Wello One is coming
Eight brand-new rental homes meant for sharing, in Prince Rupert — five minutes from downtown Edmonton. Move in December 2026.
Made for living in good company.
Harvard has been running the world's longest study of human happiness for more than 85 years, and the finding hasn't changed: the best predictor of a long, healthy, happy life isn't money, genes, or kale. It's good relationships. Researchers have measured the flip side too: being short on real social connection is about as hard on your health as smoking up to 15 cigarettes a day.
And friendship takes time — one study clocked it at around 50 hours together to make a casual friend, and more than 200 for a close one. Hours like that don't happen by appointment. They happen in kitchens, in shared yards, over one more episode and someone else's leftovers.
So we built a building for it. Wello One is the sweet spot between squeezing your friends into a creaky old rental and paying downtown prices to live alone: every home designed from scratch for sharing — by friend-families, roommates, and people still looking for their people. Your own bedroom (your own bathroom, too, in our three-bedroom homes). Shared kitchens and living rooms you'll actually want to hang out in. A yard. Neighbours you'll know by name, because there are only eight doors.
Live comfortably. In good company. Without going broke.
The building
Eight homes for rent, built from scratch for sharing.
Four 3-bedroom homes — every bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom. No bathroom schedule. No rock-paper-scissors.
Four 2-bedroom suites — bright, efficient lower-level homes at a friendlier price point.
In-suite laundry in every home
Shared yard, gardening space, and pet area — pet friendly
Backyard storage lockers, available to rent
7 on-site parking stalls, available to rent (and no parking restrictions on the street)
Brand new everything. You'll be the first to live here.
Floor plans coming soon — waitlist members see them first.
The neighbourhood
Prince Rupert: close to everything, quieter than downtown.
Wello One sits in one of Edmonton's original streetcar neighbourhoods, just north of downtown.
Five minutes' walk to a bus stop with direct LRT connections, fifteen to the Kingsway/Royal Alex LRT and Kingsway Mall, one block to the bike-and-walking path that runs straight into downtown. MacEwan, NAIT, and the Royal Alex are all close enough that snoozing your alarm is survivable.
Groceries, a hardware store, coffee, and restaurants are all in walking distance. It's the kind of neighbourhood where life works without a car — though if you have one, there's a stall you can rent for it.
Rent
Here's the honest math behind Wello: split a three-bedroom home with your friends and each of you pays meaningfully less than a one-bedroom apartment downtown — for more space, your own bathroom, a yard, and people you actually like on the other side of the wall.
Rent includes internet and regular cleaning of your home's shared spaces — because no friendship should die over a vacuuming schedule. Utilities are billed separately, and parking stalls and storage lockers can be rented by your household.
Rents will be announced this summer — waitlist members hear first and choose first.

Nope — regular rental homes, just designed honestly around how people actually like to live: privately when you want, together when you don't.
